CENTRES

1.-MUNICIPAL EXHIBITION AND CONGRESS CENTRE

Centro Municipal de Exposiciones y Congresos

Various professional events take place in Ávila each year.

Ávila's Lienzo Norte Exhibition and Congress Centre was opened as a venue for leading national and international business events and congresses and it has helped consolidate Ávila as one of the main congress venues in Spain.

Its strategic location near the town centre and opposite the Walls means it can be reached easily on foot from the town's main hotels, making congress logistics an easy task.

Despite its spectacular auditoriums and facilities, it offers an unbeatable price-quality ratio in the congress centre segment.

The Exhibition and Congress Centre is publicly owned and its main purpose is the organisation of congresses, conventions, one-day events and scientific, cultural, political, religious, technical and other kinds of meetings; it is also equipped with the technology required for their success.

The building's main specifications take into consideration its relationship with the walled enclosure of Ávila and the public access area faces the Walls.

It has a hall of great height with an area of 2000 m² for various types of exhibitions.

This modern space includes an auditorium for 1390 people, a hall for 440 spectators and several additional conference halls. Ávila also has exceptional monumental centres for events: rooms in the Walls themselves, buildings that date from the 11th century, monasteries such as the Auditorium of San Francisco, palaces from the 16th century, traditional country estates and a wide selection of hotels in historical buildings with everything you need to organise any type of professional event.

The Ávila Convention Bureau belongs to other national associations that help position and promote our town as a centre for congresses, conventions and incentives. The most important include the following:

SCB: non-profit association of cities and provinces that was created in 1984 as part of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP). It is currently attached to the General Department of Legal Services and Territorial Coordination.

Today, the association is made up of 55 venues with sufficient human and technical resources for organising meetings and events for a minimum number of 500 people.
