The Church of Santiago is of Romanesque origin although it was expanded and renovated in the 14th and 16th centuries. According to the tradition was is where armed Knights of the order of Santiago. Its octagonal tower is a unique model in the city, topped by a completely open body of bells and a slate Spire. The Church was rebuilt by Fray Francisco Ruiz initiative, consists of a single nave of great breadth and chapels between the buttresses, its main Chapel is octagonal and ample proportions. The access to the inside is done by a small portico of resurgent aesthetics but which maintains the Gothic tradition in its ribbed vaults.
